There’s a magic in glazing. The right combination, the right application, and the right kiln firing can make something special.

A new glaze and a new shape!

My mystery glaze! I keep all of the glaze water from cleaning brushes and fettling pots. Once the glaze settles out, I can pour off the water and mix the remainder up to use on some more pots. I had enough to make a small batch of glaze and this is how it came out!

Testing out some new glazes on this little spice jar and small pot. Verdict - win!

Teapots have been on my to do list for a while. This pours quite nicely too!

Simplicity is underrated.

Twice baked! This vase had some glaze issues after the first glaze firing, so back in the kiln it went. The glaze changed dramatically, and I kind of love it!

Playing with glaze…

Cups! Lots of cups! There’s something about the shape and feel of these little tea cups that I love. I usually make them as glaze tests, but I’m going to be putting these up at Stella’s Art Gallery soon, because they deserve to be shared.

More goodness from the kiln. This was a lucky break - the tumblers thrown and trimmed during teaching sessions. I used them to test a new glaze combination, and my oh my did it work!

Little and Large! The tiny cup started as 8oz of clay, and the acorn vase as 12lbs.

Ain’t it great what you can make from mud?

My big baby is all glazed and done! She survived just fine. *phew*

Absolutely loving this Scott’s Red clay from Standard!

Hubby took me to the @clevelandmuseumofart for my birthday and I came away with so much inspiration for new work. This piece was thrown in two parts from @standardclaycompany Scott’s Red and joined together when it could hold its form.

Much of my art celebrates simplicity and stillness. In an overwhelming world, it’s how I find peace.

A recently created pot set up for my next still life painting.

I love it when my creativity gets meta. (No, not THAT meta…)
