So, a life-threatening high-speed chase over a suspected civil offense.

OTOH, 20th-century reenactment may become a popular hobby, and the US will be *the* supplier of choice.

Could images of the removed material be gathered into a Banned Parks gallery?

Could FOIA be used to get such images? Or a crowdsourced effort to collect Americans' own photos?

I love how the Muppet Show folks said "You know what we should update about the show this time around? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We nailed it the first time."

At the time, it was reasonable to fear that we'd fall back under European control and get a puppet like Joseph Bonaparte or Emperor Maximilian. Sure, they could have recruited a local quisling, but empires of the time preferred to install one of their own.

Noem yesterday: "Every single action that our ICE officers take is according to the law and following protocols that we have used for years. They are doing everything correctly."

The best war exhibit I've ever seen was "A Distant War" at the Danish War Museum (Krigsmuseet) in Copenhagen, recreating a Danish military camp in Afghanistan.

It showed the experience of the soldiers on the ground as they honored the alliance we now dishonor.

Today, I was in a group that referred to "42" as something from an "old movie" none of them had seen - _2001_, maybe?

I tried to object, but crumbled into dust.

PROBLEM: With CAPS LOCK on, holding down "j" to move down your vim file squashes the entire file into one long line.

SOLUTION: Don't do that.

"Solar has risen from almost nothing in 2019 to roughly 10 percent of South Africa’s electricity-generating capacity." Already ahead of the USA's 7-9%!

For the third year *in a row*, "not getting attacked by conspiracy-addled nailgun-wielding gunman" makes the list!

I am so frustrated that I am only now discovering VisiData. What have I even done with my life?

Great question, and it's the only alternative explanation I can think of to "government conspiracy". Private conspiracy is pretty creepy, too, of course.

I recommend our small but scrappy Dayton Dynamic Languages meetup, d8ndl.org - we are a highly interactive group that regularly takes two hours for "30 minute" talks because we send speakers down rabbit holes together!
Welcome to DDL!

Not quite accurate - his boast was about the dressing room of adult pageants. There's a lot of sleaze and accusations but no explicit confession from him about the teen pageants. www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

Mustn't vex His Majesty's men with trifles over law. The peasantry grows presumptuous and must be reminded of its place.

snek or feesh?

Have to say, after six years in Davis, the Sacramento Valley seems like an awfully unmermaidy locale.

I'm rejoicing that Penguicon has finally moved away from PyCon weekend for the first time in ages.
