I plan to be more present-minded. In fact, I am just sitting here imagining what my future would be like were I more present-minded. Drifting off from this book I'm reading to imagine being more present.

10 years ago today, I rode a Greyhound from Detroit to Cincy to go out with a woman named Becca Costello and today I'm flying from Phoenix to Cincy to be back with her. 2 years of long-distance dating, 4 states in our 10 years, and Edward Sharpe's still right: "Home is wherever I'm with you."

I'm in Phoenix visiting my dad, who is still in the hospital. He's a bit out of sorts, but still sharp.

I have an interview with a non-profit next week but who knows if Trump halting federal grants destroys their budget. Who knows if this means halting Title 1 funds, which would cripple the budget of the school I currently work at. Students are worried about Pell grants and Stafford loans. Cool times.

I was watching a video of the Sotheby's auction of Cattleman's "Comedian" and I thought "That banana looks pretty fresh. It must be fake since I know this artwork has existed for years." Turns out the banana and tape are replaceable.
