im late posting about it (as usual) but two weekends ago on the recommendation of a friend i squeezed into this tiny glorious english bookstore in paris and it was just everything you dreamed about as a kid who loved books. it’s a beautiful feeling to discover a set of sliding bookshelves. 📚

i love italy and art and humanity and my best friend and orange trees and standing in the middle of a place that was buried in ash for hundreds of years and marveling at the beauty of everything.

alternately, i went on vacation!

food for thought question recycled from my twitter: as a writer on trauma themes, where’s the balance between shock value and emotional resonance? how do you express trauma without sounding purely shocking and how do we know when a trauma is ready to be written about?
