Someone should make a wallpaper that scrolls an endless block of diffs removing an awful dependency. Like github.com/open-telemet.... I'll read that shit all day.

This is a huge PR that does not touch any of the critical logic "marshaling/unmarshaling" of the pdata. We have e2e tests with the go official generated protobufs to ensure nothing breaks...

A year ago, I stepped down from the @opentelemetry.io technical committee to avoid over-representation in the group for my new employer. Today, I re-joined the committee.
