Last week, California Sea Grant hosted a 2-day seafood HACCP training in San Diego led by instructor David Rosson. The course brought together 24 participants from commercial fishing, local seafood retail and nonprofits to build practical food safety plans for local seafood.

Our Extension Director Luke Gardner and Coastal Mendocino Fellow Jami Miller gave fantastic talks at North Coast Kelp Fest! Jami shared insights on the Blue Economy Visioning, Resiliency, and Implementation Plan, while Luke wrapped up the weekend with a session on urchin ranching at the Noyo Center.

Program Coordinator Tanya Torres and Hawaii Sea Grant’s Sara Kahanamoku spent CA Coastal Cleanup Day in Dana Point Harbor with partner Stand Up To Trash. They helped host the cleanup event, where 230 people helped removed 141 lbs of trash in 1.5 hours 🌊 🚯
