I’m Greg. My wife and I live in the Pacific Northwest where we are raising our sons. I’m here chatting about skiing, hiking, family-friendly spots and the general area.

It’s all about discovering good books, cool places, and kind people!
Finished reading The Lager Queen of Minnesota. It is not that I did not enjoy reading it, I did, but the author could not quite balance the ending. I still recommend it.

“Hey, you guys!” The Goonies can be seen at OMSI for the next week.

Dad bods are brought to you by children that refuse to eat their dinner and a firmly held belief to not waste food.

One day I hope to overhear my son say “my dad took me there” with some bit of joy in his voice and every thing, every bit of it, will be worth it!

Beautiful vistas but will we see wildlife? Yes! Bison! Then a grizzly bear. But the most exciting encounter was the deer that tried to volunteer itself as a hood ornament on our adventure van. Close, but no collision and our road trip continues tomorrow.

An epic road trip to six national parks, three national monuments, and the first time I will see the Mississippi River starts tomorrow. Let’s go!

I’ll tell you one thing that is great about the States, our national parks! And today I get to kayak, hike, and watch the sunset over a lake.

I’d like to thank the other nominees, child abusers, the neglectful, the hurtful but I am, according to a recent poll, the worst.

What did I do? Well, I made them French toast with apple butter and syrup, eggs, and a banana.

Oh, and limited screen time. Probably mostly the screen time.

What do you do with all those photos? You know the ton of photos you’ve snapped of your kids.

Here’s something we’ve done that I am so grateful to my past self for, we put them into a video app (INSHOT) and load to a private YouTube channel. Years of memories accesible to the family!

Little Kiddo lost his first tooth. He’s excited but we’re a bit sad. There are not a lot of firsts left. It is not the beginning of the end, but we are definitely at the end of the beginning.

There are a lot of great movies for Father’s Day. There are classics like Field of Dreams. There are underrated gems like About Time. But for me with two school age kids it is definitely A Goofy Movie!

MLB to PDX: A bill that would help bring a Major League Baseball stadium to Portland advanced in the Oregon legislature. Here's what to know.

Hey you guys! We introduced our boys to The Goonies for family movie night. 40 years of Goonies never say die!

“Dad, would you play with me?”

There really are not nicer words that a father could hear!

Great family day this weekend at the movies to enjoy Lilo & Stitch!

If you are not following Sailing with Phoenix, local guy sails from Portland to Hawaii, then you should.

Socially awkward and extremely nice is basically the perfect summation of people from the Pacific Northwest!

Mt. St. Helens erupted 45 years ago. Last year my wife and I climbed to its top. We listened to this history -

Steve Olsen wrote a great history about the mountain, the May 1980 eruption, and the local politics that contributed to 57 people losing their lives. I highly recommend reading Eruption.

When Disneyland hosts an event and all your favorite influences are there, it kind of feels like there is a party going on, your friends are there, but you weren’t invited.

It is Friday Funday. Today that means the boys and I are going to make our own pizzas for dinner!

Each night I read to my boys. We just completed The Horse and his Boy, the third book in the Chronicles of Narnia, and I think it is safe to say that they are fans!

What a day! Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, my mom, grandmother, and step-mom. We celebrated, as we always do, at our favorite winery. This year, however, Liam also got to partake in a small sip as he celebrated his first communion this morning.

We finished the 2025 ski season in an amazing way. Our youngest decided he was comfortable to ride the lift. So our last run was his first run off a proper lift! Amazing!

We also enjoyed watching the pond skim at our mountain home, Mt. Hood Meadows. Thank you for another great season!

What’s this? One more weekend at the mountain when I thought the season was finished? Yes, please and thank you!

Going to have a Dad and kiddo ski day. He wants to go on a lift for the first time so we’re making that happen.
