A 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging sexual assault. The warrant was issued Dec. 29 out of Carson City Justice Court. Also jailed was a 23-year-old man for a warrant alleging grand larceny of a motor vehicle and burglary of a business.

A 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging sexual assault, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report. The arrest warrant for William John Riegle, was issued Dec. 29, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. According to the booking report, at 9:25 p.m. Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 8900 block of Highway 50 East in Lyon County to assist the Lyon County Sheriff's Office with the warrant.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday morning to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East. Reported at 8:48 a.m. the incident involves a pedestrian who advised they were struck by a pickup. Carson City rescue has arrived and are checking on injuries. Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating. We will update as information becomes available.

Dispatch was alerted to the crash at 8:04 a.m. and was informed it was a single vehicle, with a single occupant that crashed into a fence. Firefighters are arriving on scene and checking on injuries. Motorists can expect delays.

CCSO booked a 36-year-old man Monday for a felony warrant alleging sexual assault that came with a $250,000 bail amount. In other arrests, a Carson City man is accused of using a gun to rob a food delivery driver over a chicken wing order.

Carson High School Student Body President Kyle Allen has been selected to represent the state of Nevada as a delegate to the 2026 United States Senate Youth Program. Kyle is one of two high school students in the state to be selected by the Nevada Department of Education. Brewery Arts Center director talks changes, new events and more heading into 2026
The Brewery Arts Center (BAC) has been the art hub of Carson City since it first opened its doors in the historic Tahoe Beer brewing facility in 1976. Since then, it has offered decades of plays, music, and art classes to capital city residents. In 2023, Reno native Spike McGuire took over as Executive Director, and he said he and his team spent the first year simply keeping things as-is to learn the ropes, which they have kept as a go-to while taking over other community events like Sassabration and recently, the Silver and Snowflakes Tree Lighting festival.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Monday afternoon to a reported structure fire in the 4300 block of Angelo Court just off of East Bonanza Drive. According to Carson City dispatch, the reporting party said smoke was in the attic of the residence that was coming from an electrical cord. Dispatch alerted firefighters at 1:24 p.m. Carson City Fire Department arriving on scene report there was no smoke coming from outside of the residence.

An 84-year-old man was arrested Friday, Dec. 26 for felony warrants alleging sexual assault against a child under 14 and lewdness with a minor, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report. Carson Now has withheld the name of the suspect because the juvenile victim in the crimes alleged may result in identifying the victim. The suspect, who lives in Carson City, was taken into custody at 11:12 a.m.
