Read Dogs On the Trail to 3rd graders today as part of Read Across America week. I haven’t read to students much since retirement but it was so fun! The students were very excited to learn about mushing and the Iditarod. I think we have some new #uglydogs today!

Wow. Stories matter and this one moved me and replaced a narrative that is all to easy to believe—that we’re selfish and predatory. They are among us, but there is more good by far. Thanks Michael 🌻🌻🌻

I always thought they looked so sweet until we were porch sittin’ a lot during early COVID and got hummingbird feeders. Dang I’m glad they’re tiny! Imagine a hawk with that attitude!

When I read a book about her a few years ago I couldn’t wrap my mind around how horrible she and her family were treated. I realized I’m very ignorant of the depth and breadth of black history.
