Yeah Slooh's on Bluesky - incredible aurora!
Check out last night's aurora seen at Slooh HQ! Don't forget you can see the solar flares triggering them on our Canary Five telescope 🔭

And shoutout to Wicked, your marketing team is out of control for producing this one🍬

The Sun 2025,Oct 24. #Slooh Canary Five H Alpha Solar Telescope. It was fun to do an animation of this fiery filament which was changing quite rapidly throughout the day. #sloohshare #Sun #filament #onlinetelescope #onlinelearning

Comet C/2025 A6: Early morning Oct 11, just above the north eastern horison from Slooh's Canary Island Telescopes. I wonder if we will be able to see the comet in the S Hemisphere before it goes far away on its orbital journey of more than a thousand years #Slooh #comet

International Observe the Moon Night 4 Oct 2025
We will be seeing the Moon in gibbous phase.

So many many stars.

I can't believe this is my Andromeda. Thanks to Slooh member, Jarmo Ruuth's Astro mosaic planner I could add on the northeast/southwest bits with the bluish star cluster regions. Although my overlaps are still slightly visible, I am so excited. #Slooh Canary Three Astrograph Instrument

Marvelous to see the Dumbbell Nebula (Messier 27) through Slooh Canary One. I rather liked the FITS red, blue and green channel images. Maybe even more than the rgb.

My guess is that Trumpler 1 was catalogued for attractiveness!
It has been nicknamed the asteroid tail due to the appearance of the line of stars which at low magnification looks like a streak.

2025.08.13 06:40 Jupiter and Venus aligned at more or less the same altitude this morning. Canon 5D MKII, 400mm lens on tripod (wonder whether anyone still remembers this gear 😆) Result: very pronounced diffraction spikes!

I received an email : Welcome to the LUNAR Pilot Community🚀It seems I will be going on an incredible adventure. First task: 👉 Watch Part 1 of the LUNAR Overview #TheMoonsSymphony I think I have some of these moons on #Slooh #sloohshare #moon #space

I have observed domes on the Moon but observing the Richat Structure here on Earth has triggered an even greater curiosity. This is not a meteor impact site but the upliftment of sedimentary rocks. Erosion over millions of years did the rest. #Slooh #sloohshare #geology

Daliyabuyi Oasis is a large natural oasis that has evolved from the Keriya River. The oasis is a desert eco system. Here I have compared seasonal effects on the vegetation. Spring greening is clearly noticeable. #Slooh #sloohshare #satellites #earthscience

I quickly hopped onto Slooh's H-Alpha solar telescope after another member mentioned a nice hedgerow prominence on the NE limb of the Sun. Pretty neat 🙂 #Slooh #sloohshare #onlinelearning #onlinetelescopes

CTE: Satellites in the Space Economy: #Slooh Quest. Maybe I took on too much but then I got hooked. Other tasks were to monitor water quality in Milwaukee and be an assessor of an insurance company- all of this using satellite imagery. Gosh, I'm proud of this badge 🏵️ #sloohshare

Composite image to demonstrate the proper motion of Barnard's Star in Ophiuchus. I captured this red dwarf in 2019 (bottom) and then again in 2025 (top). To think that this star has been around for 10 or so billion years! #Slooh #sloohshare #onlinelearning

June 25, 2025 Slooh Canary Five. Has it or has it not? Observations from the ESA Solar Orbiter have revealed a chaotic magnetic field at the Sun's south pole. Maybe from now on we will know for sure whether the Sun's magnetic poles have flipped, are flipping or are about to flip
Flippen awesome! 😁☀️

I am able to access satellite imagery on #Slooh. I saw these mysterious features that were truly beautiful. This is the large Río Huaypetue open pit Gold Mine, Peru. Pretty but grim storie of illegal mining, deforestation, child labor, drug cartels #earthscience #onlinelearning

This is just part of my Crater Collection. Since Slooh introduced Earth Sciences, I have been able to get amazing satellite views of our planet. The best part will be learning more about each of these craters. Congratulations #Slooh! This quest was quite an adventure.

My quest to find the objects discovered by Caroline Herschel has been much easier than back in 1870's. She spent hours grinding and polishing mirrors, BUT whenever William was away, visitors to the observatory took note - even King George III.

If I had to choose between the Messier and Caldwell Catalogues, I would choose latter. I've learned so much by observing all 109 objects in the Caldwell Catalogue!

I was a bit unlucky with weather and proximity to the Moon and missed as Asteroid Flora moved across the fov just below ngc 3628. My first opportunity was on 13th April. The asteroid was well on its way but still in the fov of #Slooh's Canary Two Thx to @marymcintyreastro.bsky.social for the alert

Slooh's Canary 5 Solar Telescope provided magnificent views of the partial solar eclipse. Usually when we watch solar eclipses we see no detail on the Sun. We had the best of views - a chunk out of the Sun as well as some stunning surface features #Slooh #partialsolareclipse

I set out to get satellite images of the so-called Kazungula quadripoint where the borders of four countries meet in the Zambezi River. It turns out there are actually two tripoints just 150 meters apart: (Namibia, Botswana and Zambia) and (Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia) #Slooh #satellite
