Plymouth born, Cheshire based. A dab hand in the kitchen, occasionally witty, and a very slow runner. In my 40s now so it's all downhill from here, unless I'm in the Peaks
Just been listening to TMS on the school run. Absolute admiration for the young lad travelling from Manchester to Australia without using a plane. It’s everything I wanted to do when I was younger but was never quite brave enough

I love watching old shows and seeing actors before they became famous. Currently watching The West Wing and a wild Ron Swanson appears talking about a wolf

Ran my first 10k race in 11 years today. Here’s my pup sporting the medal like he actually did something and didn’t just lay around all day

Waking up to a (based solely on the score) terrible performance by England? It must but Ashes season

Sara Cox deserves all the praise right now. Running 135 miles over hilly terrain, fighting through pain, wind, and rain, over the course of 5 days is pretty insane on its own. Raising more than £5m for charity in the process is something else

I’m getting better at this bread making, if I do say so myself #breadsky

Christmas music in Hobbycraft. It’s that time already

Autumn has arrived and we’re playing Scrabble. Not sure about these letters though

After a lifetime of Android, I’ve gone to the dark side and got myself an iPhone 17 Pro Max

Was inevitable after getting a Mac, and I just couldn’t resist the orange phone

Just saw a post on Reddit about British remakes of American dramas/comedies. Someone suggested NCIS Plymouth, which I would love to see, even if every episode is about drunk matlows fighting on Union Street

Watched the new Downton film last night in Wilmslow. Good film, but I was shocked at how much the audience (primarily older woman from a "nice" area) talked and checked their phones throughout

POV - it's almost 7am and you've not fed your golden retriever yet #goldenretriever #dog

Pretty sure the White House is currently witnessing scenes similar to "The Death of Stalin"

Bond films/themes.

Just heard The World is Not Enough in the car. I'd probably say it's the biggest divide in quality between the song and the film (the theme is one of my favourites overall, but the film is meh)

A few weeks ago I posted that I was struggling to crack sourdough. It's taken a lot of practice (and it's far from perfect) but I've become addicted to baking for the family a few times a week #breadsky

Resisting the urge to buy last minute tickets to Forbidden Door (mainly as, much like each previous AEW UK PPV I won't be able to get to London in time due to other commitments). Come to Manchester next time please

Train from London to Cambridge. If I had a pound for every person with their feet on a seat, this trip would pay for itself

Absolutely failing as a husband by remembering my anniversary. I'm sure I was meant to forget about it until the last minute, or so films and TV have told me

Second attempt at sourdough. Certainly an improvement on the sloppy mess from last time... Used the Tartine book instead of whatever book I used last time.

Thanks to those who offered advice #breadsky

Looked up at the TV briefly and thought Ollie Pope was Ian Bell #engvsind

I'm not a foodie (honestly, I'd be happy with food in pill form) but just been out to Six by Nico for the Alice in Wonderland themed tasting menu. Amazed even myself by how nice it all was

New PB at Crewe Parkrun this morning. I actually feel like I'm getting into my stride for the first time in a good 10 years, and it turns out I was wrong about joining a run club. I definitely should have done it a long time ago

Attempted to cook sourdough for the first time tonight. I won't say never again, but I've never struggled so much when making bread.

It's probably me doing something wrong, of course, but does anyone have a good, reliable recipe (including for the starter) that they use? #breadsky

Like many people my age, Hulk Hogan was one of my heroes growing up. Obviously that didn't last long once I learned more about him.

He should have been remembered for his impact on wrestling, but instead he'll be remembered for his racism, politics, and general shitty personality. And rightly so.
