On Thursday, the President of the General Assembly will co-convene the annual Parliamentary Hearing at the UN. The hearing is an opportunity to underscore the imperative of #financingfordevelopment, ahead of #FFD4.
I look forward to convening a joint hearing on the role of parliaments on scaling up action for the achievement of the SDGs, with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Dr. Tulia Ackson.

I welcome the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel & Hamas.
The end of the war in Gaza has been long overdue.
I commend Qatar, the United States, & Egypt for brokering the ceasefire agreement.
