One of the more surreal aspects of this presidency is DJT doesn't drink.

He says and posts all this stuff sober.

Wild guavas ripen in a bowl.
Filling a home with pungence.
They clear the air and the mind.
Growing sweet,
eaten when soft.

I was worried with all this political turmoil America had lost its true nature.
But I see "thoughts and prayers" over the bodies of dead kids is back in vogue. So at least that is still the same.

“Proof often carries a certain urgency. It is not just about what is true; it is about convincing ourselves—and others—that something is true,” writes mathematician Adam Kucharski in his new book "Proof," where he digs into our long and complicated relationship with the truth.
The Uncertain Science Behind What We Understand As ‘Truth’
In a new book mathematician Adam Kucharski traces our relationship to truth from the ancient Greeks to our AI reality.

"Perfect is the enemy of good"
- Voltaire, 1770
There is good in progress. .
But what vanity in man to believe divine perfection is obtainable.
The wisdom is in progress.
Maybe it is time to (re)read the Treatise on Tolerance (1763).
It isn't long. And with the reading there is progress.

Circular Spadefish (Platax orbicularis) is really one of the better South Pacific white fish for grilling. The meat has a delightful firm texture and a lot of oil.
It does not lend itself to Filipino classic cuisine, and so is often dramatically discounted as a discard by-catch. Try it.

Voltaire warned us about making perfect an enemy of progress.

Not long ago an all-woman crew would have been met with, "And their husbands let them?" Or, "They should be doing something else, like the dishes...."

Stop still telling women, "They should be doing something else...."

There is a direct correlation between removing trans athletes from college sports and measles deaths.
It is almost 1 for 1.
But this is just a random observation at a point in time. I am confident soon measles deaths will outpace the numbers for all trans athletes.
