Thinking about my former Arabic teacher, whose brother was detained after taking part in protests during the revolution. Years later she didn’t know whether he was alive or dead. Thousands of Syrians have similar stories. I hope hers ends like this one. www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d...

After three years in America, I gave in and made the sweet potato marshmallow thing… devastated to tell fellow Brits that it’s actually quite good. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!
