Our second prevention project is Bristol Goods. The work might begin with food, but it opens the door to the information, advice, and support that reduces the pressures and risks of housing insecurity. This prevents homelessness, and supports people after experiencing a period of homelessness.

Outcomes, and lasting change, are what we strive to deliver for everyone we work alongside. We support people to feel empowered, more knowledgeable and confident, and able to pass these things on to others. This means less homelessness, less housing insecurity, and a stronger city for us all.

Our work is partnership work. We work with people. We respect their autonomy and help them to take control. Empowering people is the best way to ensure the type of change we support is lasting change.

There are many "red flags" which are signs that an increase in housing insecurity and risk of experiencing homelessness might be on the horizon. Our Early Doors prevention project got its name, because the earlier these red flags are noticed and acted on, the less harm is caused.
