No one should die alone on the street. #toronto
ICYMI, Toronto Public Health released preliminary data on homeless deaths in Toronto in 2024 (Jan-June). It paints a particularly violent picture for homeless women, who are dying younger than ever before — age 36 on average — and overwhelmingly from toxic drugs and increasingly outdoors.

It will be so strange if we have snapdragons in the garden in December.

While waiting for a dear friend to arrive, I was struck by how beautiful my glass of rose gold cider looked in the light of the bar.

I have often said that I think the people opposed to supervised consumption sites just haven’t ever seen one. This is a really worthwhile video to share for better, factual understanding of these services.
Watch this amazing episode on TVO to learn about supervised consumption services. This is one of the sites the province is slating close. Closures will have deadly consequences. Legislation is apparently being tabled Monday but they’ve already defunded them for april 1. www.tvo.org/video/how-do...

There is so much to love and fight for. So much goodness among us. The violence & hate seems insurmountable. But in the words of Elder Arvol Looking Horse: “Each of us is put here in this time & this place to decide the future of humankind. Did you think you were put here for something else?"

Nothing special. I just thought the leaves behind the park bench looked beautiful in the light.

It’s also nice to see a city bench without a divider. If you’re in Toronto and want a place to rest, it’s on Coxwell outside the west parkette.

We found this stone in the woods not far from our home. I am so fond of the unknown person who painted and hid it, a plotter of delight, a random agent of kindness. I hope something nice happens for them.

We placed it back to be found again, now conspirators of a sort in this little bit of joy.
