YIMBY and abundance are good, but need to be combined with billionaire wealth taxes and antitrust. Success is good, monopolist oligarchs are bad.
This whole thing is proof again and again that none of of these Billionaires are necessarily good at running a business beyond getting lucky one time, usually with a lot of background support

People were unhappy, they voted for "change" and the monkey's paw curled....

Sure, if you look around and say "this all" is better than if Harris had won it is your vote, just own the consequences of throwing a tantrum because you didn't the unicorn you deserve.

The only entity with proven power to control Trump is the Bond Market. And when they refuse to leave the 10 year will go past 10% overnight while the Dollar falls even more. They won't be able to actually fund the military they'd need to stop the riots.
January 31, 2026 at 9:56 PM
It definitely let a lot of conservatives justify holding their noses over Trump and it also let the hard core MAGA realize they really could get away with anything. It was kinda the worst of both worlds in that way.
January 31, 2026 at 9:47 PM
It just makes people mad and more interested in being engaged. They've already failed to consolidate real power, now it is more just a question of how much damage they do along the way as they turn more people off.
January 31, 2026 at 9:43 PM
But Trump wouldn't have been as unchecked without that groundwork. Giant gray area from Nixon's "dirty tricks" to Trump's outright fascism. But to say the current situation is somehow out of the blue is pretty laughable. Between Gingrich and McConnell though the last norms and guardrails fell.
January 31, 2026 at 6:14 PM
Even as late as when McConnell declared the goal to do nothing and then stole a court seat. The wildly naive part is thinking any of this started at Trump 1.0 though.

Similarly a lot have at least some hallway art or wall paper or something....That sterilness of the builder beige walls seems like apartment to me.
January 30, 2026 at 3:11 PM
MAGA and the CCP, both big fans of maintaining lists on their subjects so they can track their "social credit".

Skip to the end, he's more like Puzzle and Miller is Shift.
January 29, 2026 at 3:49 PM
This is her way to telegraphing that if she takes the fall she will talk and rat the others out. They are all too deep in things, which is why Putin relied and windows and tea while consolidating power.
January 28, 2026 at 2:14 PM
You don't have to pick... they usually know it's a joke but are stupid in that they think anything short of state provided housing can't be a solution.
January 27, 2026 at 11:50 PM
Just laughable that people can say with a straight face the best way to save the Orcas is to have Seattle workers live on former green space in Lake Stevens and Sumner and drive to work. They can drive EVs though! And make sure we need all the power the Snake River dams can make.
January 27, 2026 at 11:47 PM
because it is fricking awesome, and the throwbacks are by far the best looking kit for both teams.
January 27, 2026 at 5:47 AM
The more of the Nepo Baby owner's allowance they burn through while ratings crash the better. Keep up the good work Bari!
January 26, 2026 at 8:02 PM
What part of the American general population and media in particular makes anyone think this is wrong? Americans in general have the attention span of a goldfish.
January 26, 2026 at 7:34 PM
Now it is all about loyalty and who will stand with the administration as they work to burn the country down. The worse you are and the more crimes you'll be charged with if the administration leaves power the better you are for them now.
January 26, 2026 at 6:50 PM
Did someone make sure Trump can still identify a Giraffe before the call?
January 26, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Defense held the one time they really had to. But otherwise mostly just were enough of a speed bump to let Darnold won this one. Pats don't have that Offense.
January 26, 2026 at 4:27 AM
Well that would explain why it only applies to Trump, maybe SCOTUS does have a consistent theory of the law after all!
January 25, 2026 at 6:35 PM
He does. I think Alito and Thomas are clearly all in on the fascism, but Roberts may go down as just a naive fool who took a poorly thought out legal theory and turned it into a weapon for Trump. Almost worse than Alito and Thomas, who at least own their general disdain for then rule of law.
January 25, 2026 at 6:08 PM
I do wonder if the realization is hitting him now that it is already probably too late for Roberts to put the genie back in the bottle. He unleashed this without any plan on how to actually control it. History will not look kindly on these monsters.
January 25, 2026 at 5:37 PM
And I expect they would actually raise more money getting people into the streets. If there were QR donation options at protests, with clear IRL proof they'd use the funds on human engagement, not consultants or just buying ads, I think they'd be shocked by the haul they'd have.
January 25, 2026 at 5:22 PM
All they need to do is call in anonymous bomb threats like they tried out in 2024? They don't need to mess with deep blue districts, just enough chaos to shift things in gerrymandered purple districts so they keep the majority. You don't have to be good at interference if no worries on consequences.
