The news that a UN humanitarian worker has died in custody at a Huthi-run detention facility in nothern Yemen is truly appalling. There must be an urgent independent, effective and impartial investigation into the circumstances that led to his death.

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that tapir Yuna gave birth to a rare and endangered Malayan tapir calf Sunday night. The newborn, covered in distinctive white spots and stripes resembling a fuzzy walking watermelon, is only the second tapir born in our 120-year history.

This week, I got chance to spend some time in the library focusing on my PhD research.

I was reminded of how much I love having this opportunity to study and also how all university libraries smell exactly the same :)
