In 2025, Elon Musk perpetrated an even larger data breach, stealing the entire database of the Social Security Administration, containing the private data of everyone in the US.

He suffered absolutely no consequences for it.

 In 2017, Equifax suffered one of the largest data breaches in history. Around 147 million Americans had their Social Security numbers, birth dates, and addresses exposed.

But instead of alerting the public, executives quietly sold stock while the company hid the breach for months.
