Lover of indie music and a budding vinyl collector in Australia.

Finally getting the opportunity to sit down and listen to ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ by Doves. Took a while to make it here from the UK. Love this band and they sound so good on vinyl!

A great week of gigs this week, all different but all excellent. From Middle Kids at the Zoo, to Green Day at a stadium to The Courteeners at the Metro Theatre. Hard to pick a favourite. All outstanding!

The Kinks- Second Time Around a cheap second hand pick up today. Always enjoyed the Kinks and makes me think of my Mum’s story of being thrown out of a gig in her youth because her friend jumped on stage and ripped a button off one of the Davies Brothers jackets. #vinyl

The Charlatans - Up To Our Hips (30th Anniversary Edition) great album with some classic tracks. The only disappointment is that they felt the need to change the cover for this edition. #vinyl

Song From Northern Britain by Teenage Fanclub would definitely make my personal top 5 albums. Listening takes me back to my University days. They have so many great albums but this holds the most memories. still touring and releasing new music too. #vinyl

We Didn’t Start the Fire 7’ single. One of the very first singles I remember buying back in the 80s. Happy to still have it today. #vinyl

The Glow by DMAs. Love this album. Probably my most listened to band of the last few years and can’t wait to see them live again on Friday at Twilight at Taronga.

Universes by Birds of Tokyo. One of my favourite Australian Bands, haven’t released much on vinyl that I can find so jumped at the chance to get this limited edition picture disc repress when it was announced. Just about to give it a first spin #vinyl

Bully Boy by Shed Seven, limited edition coloured 7’ vinyl - another purchase from my teen years. Very happy to have a lowish number under 500. Still has the price sticker of 99p! One of my favourite bands of all time - so happy to see them still touring and releasing new material #vinyl

In Bloom 7’ single. Bought in the 90s from a small record shop near where I grew up in England. Even though CDs were taking over, I was always drawn to singles on vinyl, especially if they were different colours or limited edition. Kept them all thankfully #vinyl

Hejira by Joni Mitchell. A bit of a change from my usual indie rock guitar type music but a good listen when in the right mood. Such a distinctive voice!A cheap pick up from the Glenbrook Record collectors Fair. #vinyl

Pink Cactus Cafe by The Courteeners. Bought this after their collaboration with one of my favourite Australian bands DMAs. Solid album from start to finish with my personal highlights being the title track and their collab with DMAs. #vinyl

A record I liberated from my Dad’s collection 20 years ago before he donated his vinyl to charity. I didn’t have a player at the time (and wouldn’t replace my old one for another 10 years) but felt the need to keep hold of a handful of his albums. So glad I did #vinyl #motown

Anxiety Replacement Therapy by The Lottery Winners. This is a really fun album from a band that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Lots of collaborations with the likes of Shaun Ryder, Boy George and Frank Turner. If you like Indie Guitar music, definitely worth checking out! #vinyl
