Summary of actions for CAPCon 2026. CAPCon’s legal team continues monitoring federal activity and communicating with trusted local partners. No known risks exist for the Host Hotel or surrounding area. Safety and privacy policies remain top priorities, with reinforced guidance for staff and partners. Federal agents will be denied entry when legally possible. CAPCon will support the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and encourage attendee donations. Leadership commits to continued updates and looks forward to welcoming attendees to CAPCon 2026.

Making a difference as a community. CAPCon thanks the Minneapolis community and Host Hotel and commits to supporting local efforts. CAPCon will donate a guaranteed minimum of $1,000 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota. Artists in the Art Auction are encouraged to donate at least 10 percent of proceeds, with CAPCon waiving administrative fees. Attendees who donate at least $10 may receive a limited-run sticker. Sticker production costs are covered personally by senior leadership. CAPCon welcomes additional ideas and feedback.

Additional steps for CAPCon 2026 safety include expanded internal planning, added training, and legal oversight. Federal officers will be denied entry to the Host Hotel unless legally required by a federal warrant or emergency. Any law enforcement presence will be monitored, documented, and resolved quickly. CAPCon’s legal team tracks local activity daily and maintains connections with Minneapolis organizers. At this time, no active risks to CAPCon or the surrounding area are known. Community feedback and suggestions are welcomed through the Portal.

CAPCon safety practices include a full hotel takeover with controlled, staffed entrances 24 hours a day; coordination with the Host Hotel to limit law enforcement entry to emergencies only; documentation and rapid resolution of any incidents; and strong privacy protections for attendees. These protections include camera restrictions, discretion guidance, and a requirement that law enforcement, including federal agents, present a judicial search warrant to enter the Host Hotel outside of emergencies. CAPCon reaffirms its long-standing commitment to attendee safety and privacy.

On the ground in Minneapolis. CAPCon teams have closely monitored conditions since the federal surge was announced and do not believe CAPCon or the Host Hotel will be impacted. Local police do not enforce immigration law, and there have been no significant encounters near the convention area. CAPCon continues daily monitoring and welcomes verified information via the Portal. The slide also outlines existing safety measures, including a long-standing security program using both trained volunteers and professional security staff.
