Rewatched Barbie for the first time since I saw it in the cinema because Indy wanted to watch it. I think it was better 2nd time around. It hit even harder with what’s going on around the world now. I’m left feeling hopeful that if we stand together we too can one day fix our world.

A Real Pain

I’m expecting to see some Oscar nominations for the acting. Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin were phenomenal. A beautiful story of cousins who seem like polar opposites but united in their shared family history rediscovering their bond while paying homage to their Polish Grandmother 👍👍

Presence

I’d heard this was supposed to be a really scary horror. It was not. It was a brilliant, moving, devastating piece of cinema that will stay with me for a long time. Innovative introspective on family dynamics and death. A must watch. 👍👍

Longlegs

Apparently this was supposed to be one of the scariest films of last year. Interesting? Yes. Well shot and directed? Yes. Scary? Not in the slightest. Still a good film though, nice to see something a bit different and unique. 👍

Wicked

Brilliant. Haven’t seen the show, haven’t read the book, only know a couple of songs so went in pretty blind. A thoughtful and moving narrative, great songs, amazing choreography, and the cast were all outstanding. Can’t wait for part 2. 👍👍

Silo S2

This show is so damn good. The cast is phenomenal, stand out performances all round. I love how the plot unfolds, giving answers whilst also raising more questions. Each episode leaves me gripped, highly anticipating the next. Ending in a real cliffhanger, I hope we don’t wait long for S3.

Nosferatu

Honestly I found it really dull. It seemed to be all aesthetic and no substance. The pacing was too slow and it just dragged on. A fine cast but poor writing led to wooden performances. 👎👎

Death Note Volume 1

I’ve been meaning to read this for a while so I bought the entire series black edition.

I can see why it’s so popular, I was immediately hooked and I’m struggling to put it down. The writing is incredible, so intelligent and thought out. And the art really brings it to life. 👍👍

Squid Game S2

Outstanding. Hooked on every ep. So glad Gong Yoo had a bigger part. New cast is fantastic. Only gripe is it was too short and I don’t want to wait for the next season!

Kraven the Hunter

Honestly, I didn’t hate it. It was fairly enjoyable and quick paced. Yes the writing and dialogue was awful. Yes the acting (with a couple of exceptions) was not great. Yes the cgi was dodgy. But I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

IF

Went in with low expectations and ended up ugly crying by the end. A lot deeper than I expected, this was actually a great movie about growing up but hanging on to the kid within us all.

Sonic 3

Enjoyable, if you like the first 2 you’ll like this. Jim Carrey continues being the best character. Keanu Reeves as Shadow was a good addition. It kept my 5 year old’s attention throughout which is an achievement.

Skeleton Crew Ep 3
I’m really enjoying the show, and it’s even better now Jude Law is here. The kids are great, but it’s his interactions with them that really make it fun. I’m curious about his past and his force sensitivity, hope all gets explained.
