Hmm - where have all the waterways gone?
November 14, 2025 at 1:24 PM
There will be limited support over the weekend and into next week as we will both be away visiting remote places

Just decommissioned some old code relating to the old forums and user maintenance. As they are no longer in use it seemed stupid to keep the old code running,

Hopefully no-one will notice it from the front end.

Fixed a bug in the forum login process that broke new user logons.

But no-one had reported it...

Oh well.

Stoppage processing restarted after a code change which hopefully makes it more resilient to future data changes
October 2, 2025 at 7:27 PM
I've turned off stoppage processing on Canalplan as it look like CRT have changed their JSON data structure and right now I do not have the time or patience to work out what is going on

Interesting fact. You can't use central locking on the Volvo S60 if you've removed this bit of the car

Just a few hours to do tomorrow
September 20, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Its raining, there is a boat moored on the bollards above Wheaton Aston lock, and a hireboat going down whose only lock experience is being shown how Autherley stoplock works.

Got to love boating
September 20, 2025 at 12:04 PM
Off for a pint. .
September 19, 2025 at 6:14 PM
So that's what the little bollards by a lock are for. .

A bit later than planned but......
September 18, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Well that was fun... nearly squashed 4 canoeists at Hatherton junction who were not looking where they were going.
September 18, 2025 at 5:54 PM
They are coming back some other time to finish it off

The things you find in canal locks. Stuck at Dimmingsdale whilst CRT replace a ground paddle stand. Apparently not allowed to take photos of them working

The Robin Hood, The Starving Rascal, The Swan and The Red Lion. Two of those new for us but all four with a good range of beers. Amblecote is worth a detour. Moor by Coalbournbrrook bridge, there are rings
September 16, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Spoilt for choice...
September 16, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Good moorings, off to The Robin Hood later
September 16, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Time for a lunchtime pint
