Progressive. Anti Musk/Trump, pro EU. Ex ITV News & Ch4N cameraman, founder of Motion Records. And … Charlton Athletic fan 🙂.

The world is being taken over by billionaires, oligarchs and kleptocrats. In plain sight.

In the early 1990s I was a cameraman at ITN, and worked on one of the major of D-Day. I was filming in a café in Normandy with a group of British veterans, when one of them took me by the arm and said “Don’t ever let anybody tell you that the Holocaust never happened. I was one of those that… 1/2
@mrjamesob.bsky.social I know it’s not logical, but the world of football came up with their own resolution of the pronunciation issue: eg Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax are pronounced in the ‘local’ way. Madrid, both Milans, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are not. No one ever pronounces the J in Ajax. 👍

@mrjamesob.bsky.social The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas is the same agreement Biden proposed late summer of ‘24.
Both Hamas and Israel initially agreed to it.
Then Trump called Bibi and told him to NOT agree because it would help Trump and hurt Biden's reelection chances.

Gaza faces a severe humanitarian crisis as Israeli restrictions on aid lead to widespread malnutrition and starvation, with hospitals overwhelmed by malnourished children.
Mass starvation stalks Gaza as deaths from hunger rise
Aid agencies warned for months that Israel’s harsh limits on food aid would bring acute malnutrition and widespread suffering to Gaza’s 2.1 million people.

Whatever happened to BlueSky?

Pt 1. will bring in revenue from people who, trust me, can afford it.
Pt2 will stimulate growth. The less well off are more likely to spend the extra income rather than squirrel it away, leading to an increase in VAT revenue, and increased income for retailers. They might even start a business.

@rachelreevesmp I doubt you’re on BlueSky, but I have suggestions to help get us out of the Tory created fiscal hole.
1. Introduce the Neil Kinnock ‘Wealth Tax’. 2% on assets over £10m.
2. Increase the tax threshold and reduce the 20% tax rate to 19 or 18%%.

Free of course in almost all of Europe. The U.S. is rapidly becoming a third world country. It’s only a matter of time before the next major pandemic comes along and Trump tells you to sniff bleach, and RFK tells you to chew vitamins.

It’s possible to be an effective front bencher without having designs on the leadership. It’s also possible to be an effective front bencher without having what it takes to be a good prime minister.

That won’t happen.

Can you imagine that awful Tory mayoral candidate (Susan something?) coming up with a plan like this? No, me neither.

A possible ray of light?
We’ve been driving regularly from London to Suffolk and back for 20 years, and this is the first time we can remember seeing this.
May 6, 2025 at 6:08 PM
Oddly, when my wife returned to London from Suffolk last weekend the windscreen was cover in bug splatter. That’s the first time that’s happened in ages.
And today I left the French windows open for an hour, and four wasps came inside for an explore. That’s also unusual. Has the fight back started?

‘Move seals a deal to create a fund the Trump administration says will begin to repay roughly $175bn provided to Ukraine’.

Way less than $175bn was provided to Ukraine’.
