Submitting new terms to the BODC vocabulary server feels like the one kid asking for more homework. Does anyone actually use these? I feel like controlled vocabularies are a nebulously good idea, but find it hard to articulate a real life use case.

Inspired by @molly.wiki I finally signed up to wikipedia to correct an out-of-date oceanographic research vessel's page.
