i'm doing that thing again, adding multiple lights for minimal gains. x_X sometimes i wonder just how much of the detail i put in there really matters... but honestly, it's fun tweaking them, and it gives me even MORE of a reason to drool over those abs.

it's very different, trying to carve a figure out of light instead of shadow, as every extra light just seems to want to wash out every bit of texture and subtlety. but it's a fun challenge, so no complaints from me. ;3

it was interesting trying to use a more direct top-down light for this one... had to play around with getting the shoulder to pop. it was fun to play around, and that's what matters. ;3

had to rethink how i did lights on this one... it's a lot trickier to get a color like pink to give a good fill than i thought it was going to be. >_<

slipping back into a bit deeper shadow with these, playing with a 'less is more' approach. finding the right balance of suggestion vs detail is really tricky, and i'm not always sure i get it right... but i'm really loving how this set turned out. ;3

posing with props is a treat, and i'm glad that emo's character fits in with using one. i know it's mostly hidden, but there's enough of it there that it really pays off the pose without being obtrusive.

so not a WHOLE lot different here that what i would normally do, though i did play with more pure white lights for the highlights and background, and but still kept my warmer neutral lights for the body. also, no real front lighting, everything is either placed above or behind. (( hehehe... more butt jokes. ))
