To the queer who rang me up at Trader Joe’s and gave me 2 extra bags when I said my cat would be disappointed that they are no longer double bagging. Rhubarb appreciates your contribution

Quick! Name a Vampire that is not Dracula

The tags in my clothing today are unacceptable. I’ve changed clothes 2x.

I don’t want to change out of PJs this morning but I’m a good dog mom so I’m putting on real clothes and going for a walk in sub zero temperatures.

For lack of a better platform, my list of petty complaints for the weekend are as follows:

Trader Joe’s was out of candied orange slices when I went on Friday.
Costco changed the recipe of the breakfast wraps I like.
I need to eat more protein or I’ll regret it and I don’t want to.

My biggest criticism of BlueSky is that is is not as good for doom scrolling as Twitter was.

Lap warmer + coworker

Costco changed the breakfast wraps they carry and still haven’t brought back the vegetable melange that they had this summer.

There is no reason for me to go into the office today except that I physically have to sign a form for a student.
January 15, 2025 at 12:11 PM
So I don’t want to be on Facebook, I impulse deactivated my account last week and I’m the most worried about how I’m going to stay on top of events.

Today’s coworker.

I didn’t realize driving manual transmission was nostalgia.

I do miss this and not as much as tearing the edges off of the dot matrix printer paper.
what’s your favorite instance of haptic nostalgia—the poignant memory of the physicality of an obsolete thing—like dialing a rotary phone, shifting gears in a manual transmission, opening a soda can with a pull ring?

While I’m so glad to be home, this 1 day weekend situation is not ideal.
January 12, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Both the dog and I are home for the first time since Tuesday afternoon.

Sitting in this hotel bar having mussels frites and a surprisingly hoppy Japanese lager, missing the West Bank Republic MN location.
January 11, 2025 at 2:33 AM
I feel like I should be doing something other than hanging out in my hotel room AND I know that my big events are the next 2 days.
January 9, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Taking myself out to dinner is one of my favorite parts about traveling for work.
January 9, 2025 at 3:46 AM
I don’t need to leave for 30 minutes and I have done all of the things that will make my life easier when I return from this trip.
January 7, 2025 at 8:32 PM
I have another 3 days off work and I don’t quite know what to do with myself, so I’m running errands via public transit.

Brain, we’re going to yoga instead of internally screaming about a thing that we could be working on but know I’d just sit and panic.

Who has 2 thumbs and got over stimulated at the gym? It me.

Also climbing 3 days in a row is too many on my body.

I’ve forgot how I used Twitter when I used it all of the time. So welcome to brain dumps that I have no where else for.
August 31, 2023 at 1:49 AM
I over estimated my Minnesota goodbye. I’m apparently very efficient at leaving a group event.
