Starting this story over again. 😓

Finished Soulless by Gail Carriger today! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It features an omniscient narrator and fantastic chemistry between the characters. The world felt real, and the Romance wasn’t ham-handed.

Anyway, if you haven’t already, you should totally look into this book. 🫶🏻 Happy Reading!

*Poison: a wicked Snow White Tale* by Sarah Pinborough

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well written, with evocative imagery and interesting twists to the classic fairytale. The only things which pulled me out of the story were formatting choices — like the dialogue only having single quote marks (‘) instead of doubles (“).

This month’s writing prompt is: write a story about rediscovering an old passion.

Not sure what passion I’m going to go with yet… Baking? Dance? If you’ve got any ideas, throw them my way!

I love how this month’s short story came out! 😁 Now I’m just hoping my readers like it, too.🤞🏻🤞🏻

The ducks say it’s too wet and cold outside, you should curl up with a book… I think I’ll do just that!

To DNF or to not DNF… that is the question 🤔

Just finished Ink & Sigil by Kevin Hearne, and I have to say… I’m kind of disappointed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why? It was too political for me. Politics has its place in fiction/fantasy, but it’s not what I want to read. I want to be taken out of the real world (and real politics) not bashed over the head with it.

I feel like the only writer who doesn’t drink coffee 😅

That’s okay, though. I have matcha to fill the void.

they don't tell you this but 90% of writing is just googling a word you've used a million times before to make sure a) it means what you think it means and b) whether or not it has a hyphen in it

Finished reading DREADFUL by Caitlin Rosakis! If I had to try and explain it to someone, I’d say it’s a cross between your traditional “knight in shining armor” fairytale (from the villain’s side) and The Three Stooges

Restarting my WIP… again. It’s okay, though, because it’s going to be so much stronger! (And I’m only 16k words in, so it’s not that much to scrap). I’m also stripping it down to a single POV 😱

Wish me luck!

Writing consists of picking your brain for a story. Crying because you don't have one. Searching tiktok and pinterest out of boredom. Finding inspiration. Writing until you cry some more. Procrastinating because it sucks. Finishing. Crying some more. Fin

I’ve been having a tough time with my writing recently, and with finding a writing group that isn’t just about critiquing each other’s writing… so I’m making one on Discord. I’m calling it the Writers’ Sanity Check, and it’s specifically geared toward supporting writers on their writing journeys. 🫶🏻
