We've finally decided to stop lurking and say hello! Buttle UK is a #UKCharity that supports children & young people who face poverty & crisis situations.

Founded back in 1953, we give grants to support families for everyday necessities that we would expect any child growing up in the UK to have.
The team at Buttle UK wishes you a very Merry Christmas! 🎄

Just a reminder that our office is closed until 9am on 2nd January 2026. See you soon!

Temporary accommodation isn’t a solution.

Every 12 minutes, a family in England becomes homeless - placed in temporary accommodation that can be unsafe.

Right now, a record-breaking 350,480 people are living in such circumstances.

This is homelessness, hidden behind closed doors.

Shocking new research from Shelter. We hear from support workers everyday who tell us about children coming to school without the uniforms and supplies they need. We must do better by them
New Shelter research shows the housing emergency is damaging children’s education.

Over half of teachers work in a school where children have been homeless in the past year and 175,025 children now live in temporary accommodation.

This must change. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

Did you know we give grants for Christmas trees?
The first are going to families who are having to start fresh after violence in their homes meant they haven’t had their own consistent home for a while.

We hope they can feel a little extra holiday cheer this year!

WE WON 💥 The two-child benefit limit is GONE! This will pull 470,000 children out of severe hardship by 2027.

This is a massive victory for families, campaigners, and every one of you that played your part urging the Chancellor to act.

WE DID IT! That’s the two-child benefit cap lifted! This will lift over 350,000 children out of poverty. It has been the single biggest driver of child poverty!

ICYMI: the two-child benefit limit is the single biggest driver of child poverty in the UK, pushing hundreds of families into hardship EVERY DAY.

Fully removing it would lift 470,000 children out of severe hardship. It's the moral thing to do.
