It sucks that I'm more stressed than anything re: my NJ/NYC trip this weekend, but I know once I am settled in and know where to go, I'll be happy I did it.

Sure, House (1977) is likely considered tokusatsu in the zany visuals, but this is the only example I can think of where he had a full-blown toku villain in his movie.

I think the most mind-blowing thing about this to me is that I was *in college 18 years ago* having people roll their eyes at me wishing they'd release the two movies as one. It's only 18 looooong years later (22 if we count when the movies came out) that I'm finally going to see it happen.

Wow, the transit options from Newark International to my hotel this weekend are surprisingly awful. I try to avoid ridesharing as much as possible because of cost but it might be my only reasonable option.

I love seeing people use the phrase "forced comedy" in modern blockbuster movies, in this case for the new Predator movies. What they really mean is: "This movie has elements of comedy and I don't want that in my big budget action movie." 🙄

I think it really sucks that the current state of air travel, as well as my personal finances, have made me more stressed out about my Ultraman Live trip rather than being excited about it.

One thing waiting for me when I got home was this little muscle man posable figure I bought awhile ago. I have some lofty goals of trying to customize him to make a Bu figure but I also realize that's probably easier said than done. 😭
