People will go to insane lengths to try to justify the use of AI for creating art. Most recently I’ve seen content arguing that it makes art accessible. As a disabled artist I HEAVILY disagree.

AI only makes art accessible if you think work made in the style of a disabled artist isn’t art

Worries are imagined realities, and creative people by nature can imagine and create worlds which don’t exist. It stands to reason then that creative people are uniquely predisposed to anxiety—and that creation in the right form could help alleviate it.

Back making pottery slowly but surely after my #fnd diagnosis! Thank goodness for my wet box which kept all my pots leather hard for months during this flare. Literally cried tears of joy seeing these mugs. I’ll never take my abilities for granted again

There are a lot of reasons why #handmadeart careers are dying. Between people expecting sweatshop pricing, SHEIN and Temu resellers infiltrating the handmade market, and stagnant wages for customers, it’s harder to make it as a handmade artist—at least without breaking your mind and body 1/5
