In June, an international network of humanists and technologists joined forces to advance historical text recognition and research at the Source Codes of the Past (SCOOP) conference at Princeton.

It's fascinating how some of my side gigs and my actual dissertation research happened to align so well (editorial work in publishing houses & studying medieval orthography), but now some things make me even more shaky

Does anyone know the demon who contacted the scribe of the Codex Gigas so he could finish writing the Bible in one night? I still need to finish one article and three chapters of my dissertation till the end of summer, could use some dark ritual or something 💁

Už delší dobu používám ChatGPT na pomoc kódováním a i si ho platím. Jenže už delší dobu spíš spravuju blbosti, které mi ChatGPT poradí, než že by mi to reálně pomohlo s kódem (:

Do you ever just
My hands get super dry during winter months so I use a a very oily hand cream (shea butter) and I grabbed my ReMarkable with my disgusting greasy hands... so now I can see a miniature stain of my thumb on the case...
