"Forgive me for excessive anthropomorphism, but we live in a natural world that, rightfully, flinches from human touch. Pigeons are one of the few creatures that don’t. And for that, we punish them."

#pigeons
Pigeons are a problem that we have caused.

[They] are descendants of homing pigeons that we domesticated. We loved them, once. We might not remember that, but pigeons do.

If pigeons are dirty or disgusting, they are that way because we are dirty and disgusting.

I dreamed of the ocean. A massive wave approached, crossing the line from slow distance to sudden intimacy. Tumbling me over and over, rolling me deep under the water, crushing breath, holding me down. I twist, turn towards the surface...

My eyeballs, my neck, and my upper spine suddenly feel like they're on fire. If I wake up and find out I'm a brain in a jar, I am going to be irked. Otherwise, if someone is burning my effigy... can they please not? I need to use my eyeballs to do work.

I am enjoying my fake night sky. There are a bunch of different slides to insert, and they spin around slowly on the roof (or wherever you point them). It's a weird mix of old and new tech.

Just got my covid vax. Had the flu vax a couple of months ago. Don't forget it's flu season and there's a new covid variant around. Friends who've had it say it's brutal. Have friends with long covid too whoch is awful. Stay safe!

The World Health Organization designated the new NB.1.8.1 strain as a "variant under monitoring" and it's now the dominant variant in China and Hong Kong.

The last few nights the waxing moon has been a yellow cat's eye in the sky. The yellow colour and the whispy fur of the clouds doesn't come through in the photos but it feels so much like Kroshka's eye, watching me.

This has been the worst year for me in a series of bad years. Not as dramatic as others, but every day has been hard. The cumulative pain, trauma, doom, whatever you want to call it, has been too much. I'm not sure where the limit of my tolerance, patience, restraint, coping... is, but it's close.

Increasingly surrounded by plushies like it's the 80s. This one is good for squishing to my chest when the pressure is too much like he can chew his way in there. Alas, he cannot. I am stuck in the tar of care for Dad, doomscrolling, restraining myself from things I can't resolve, achieving nothing.

I've been trying to post nice things, but as usual... image upload error after image upload error... 5 times now with redoing images and text. It's doing the opposite of what I was trying to achieve, which is calm, appreciate the good things... but 🤷‍♀️ so frustrated. I give up. Error in 🧵 #techcurse

Lovely rainy day, but I am struggling with the ever-present back pain (+ raynauds) swinging to intense + finding balance between cold vs electric blanket. I can't stand up to do the lovely jigsaw I've had for ages and pulled out to do again recently, let alone the million things I must do right now.

Tired but not sleeping or doing anything. I need to redye my hair. These glasses only have one arm but they actually make it easier to read lying down. Fortunately I have a pair that's lost the other arm too for when I lie on the other side. My actual glasses don't work so it's readers all the way.

Cold grey day. I'm really tired, worn down. I can't get anything done. News of the world and personal Krosh, Dad, ... stress is overwhelming. The resurgence of fascism and right wing ideologies everywhere is so devestating. But I'm glad to hear people are rallying against Trump. I hope they succeed.

America is currently a fascist dictator state. Make no mistake, if they succeed it will normalise and embolden fascists here.

The USA government has turned on its own people.

Write to your local member of parliament, your senator, the prime minister demanding they publicly denounce the USA. Share
