Just updated my cube overviews to be a little more sales pitchy for the next CubeCon. Now that I've played in one, I understand the mechanics of how people choose the cubes to play (it is quite an overwhelming process). And advertising that I'm #wotcstaff probably doesn't hurt :)

2025 was an incredible year for me and has brought me a lot of happiness. I met my wonderful girlfriend, I saw the successful release of several work projects I put a lot of effort into, and I found a new card game to compete in. Really excited for 2026!

My favorite card of the year is Teval, arbiter of virtue. The text never changed in from my brain to print, just the mana cost and power toughness. I think it’s super fun, you can get big pop off turns but it’s risky and you’re often balanced on a knife’s edge. The art is also incredible. #wotcstaff

Played a full box sealed grab bag at work today and went 3-0 with this nice crime mill deck. Shoutout to Unlicensed Hearse for the DSK matchups and Dave Humpherys for making the 1B vampire mill target player.

Have had some banger monored cube drafts recently. Been trying to add cards to laser-focus buff some strategies and it seems to have worked. Combo cube has also improved after cutting half the under supported stuff to properly support the other half. Feeling proud of my work.

Ended up 5-4, at least I have my “better-than-50%” pride. Lost to kaisa more than I was hoping to, I thought my list was at least reasonable against it though not favored. I should have played 3 jeweled colossus.

Three rounds in and I’m 2-1 at Riftbound Houston. My loss was super close too, this game is really fun! Charm and Thousand-Tailed Watcher please take me home. #ahribestgirl

Had a nice Riftbound day yesterday ft a few hours of playtesting in the morning into a Skirmish. The tournament boiled down to us and another testing discord on each side of T4 (with @bsweitz123.bsky.social's Ahri knocking me out in said semis 😵💫)

Went 4-1 in a six-person rotisserie draft of monored cube. Loved my deck and the soothsayer+gargadon combo was awesome. Lost to Goblins chumpblocking to buy enough time to combo kill me with Kiki jiki or Muxus.

Had a sick Jeskai Kiki combo cube deck this evening. My favorite event was Hedron Crabbing myself then Collectors Cage, find Karmic Guide reanimate Kiki reanimate Village Bellringer. Also ephemerated a manifested bellringer to win.

Capped it off with an 0-2 with a pretty bad deck in @turn3coco.bsky.social’s CoCo Cube. Tried some stuff out I hadn’t done and it didn’t come together very well. Playing only 2 cocos is probably griefing.

Won a for-funsies team draft of Monored Cube with this nice artifact deck. Agatha’s soul cauldron on gingerbrute and steel overseer carried me. Never got to make the Chad mako+LED play

Lost to @GavinVerhey in the top 64 in Old Border Foil cube. Tried to draft Storm and had to pivot into a Forbiddian Reanimator deck. Sad to not get to draft the maximum number of times but the event was a blast overall!

Lost a super close finals in the 6 drop cube to finish 2-1, but good enough for the final day. I cast Moltensteel Hellkite on turn 4, put all my life into it on t5 and then toil//troubled my opponent for lethal. #cubecon2025 #wotcstaff
