I currently teach kids not to bite each other, while appreciating carnivores who do! Also working on a tiny house and being an overbearing cat mum <3
Another travel day, but before leaving Colorado here are few pics from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo... It was baby season! Mountain goat kids were born May 19th 😍

There is indeed some blue sky peeking through! Hope my fellow West-coasters are holding up ok, this atmospheric river is living up to it's name in our parts 💦🙃

For #SundayFunday, here are my cats on supervised outside time! Would they rather be off leash? Yes. Would they be at risk of injury from cars, mortality from wild predators, and kill native animal species that are just trying to get by? Emphatically yes. So, this is our compromise 🐈🐈‍⬛💞

For #Science #SundayFunday , a list of absurd animal group names. What's your favorite?

(Hard to beat 'A memory of elephants', though I think 'A wake of vultures' comes close!)
50 Collective Nouns for Groups of Animals
What's the correct way to describe a group of your favorite animal? A "bunch of worms" may sound like a lazy descriptor, but it's correct.

Everyone should check out The Stacks! Let's fix academic publishing together 💪
Hello! I'm David and I study the effects of changing landscapes on carnivore populations (hyenas, fishers & martens are my jam!)

Frustrated by predatory publishers, I am now working to free scientists to collaboratively publish peer-reviewed research with @stacksjournal.bsky.social. Take a look!

Hey fam! I guess it's #PortfolioDay, and since my artistic abilities leave much to be desired (though I've taken up colored pencil... TBD if I'm ever brave enough to post!) here is a recap of a few #trailcam #cameratrap favorites over the years 😃

🚨 New paper out!
1/4 We collected camera data on black bears in Maine and included the demographic state - either a lone adult, or a family unit, and after four years we were able to run multi-state, multi-season models to look at the influence of forest harvest on occupancy and transitions 🐻🌲🌳
