Who knew that Lawnmowers rev up to, almost but not quite, the D above Middle C. Go on: ask me how I know?

We also tend to know what is happening with other Autistics and how they feel within the world.
Who has “lived experience of Autism”?
Super easy answer. It’s Autistic people.

Non-Autistic people have experience of being around us, of interpreting our actions through non-Autistic perceptions. They don’t have experience being us in the same way I don’t have experience being non-Autistic

Autism is a neurological difference. Throughout the body!
We often talk about autism like it’s all in the brain.
But the nervous system runs through the entire body.
Autism isn’t just how we think — it’s how we process and respond: to sound, light, touch, movement, and stress.

It’s sensory. It’s regulatory. It’s physiological.

I’m struggling with noise in the mall. The funniest thing is that the quietest place is the board game store.

I’m being made to watch old slides from my youth. I can accurately tell you what buildings are in the shots and where they are taken, but no idea what the people are feeling.

Today has been a tough day. I’ve been sad all day and all my usual solutions that I tried didn’t work. My wife, after she had finished work, made me come for a walk on the beach with her. This is the first time we have been down here for months! It sort of worked.

I’m not a big fan of “a single term defines our totality” but I think paying more attention to monotropism will help autistic acceptance.

I love being in a presentation when someone else is translating my words. It always gives me a different perspective.

Hello Bluesky. I wonder if this is going to be me posting about Autism or about my music?
Or am I going to confuse the algorithm again???
