Used my last day off of 2025 to enjoy the spectacular (and spectacularly under-promoted) railway line to Stranraer. Wild moorland views, mechanical signalling and the daftest split-ticket nonsense where the cost was halved when I bought separate journeys to / from Ayr 🙄

Considering new project for the new year. Another layout. Still contemporary WHR, but smaller, more portable with an unusual hexagonal (potentially modular?) design. Long train run-past but also potential for shed moves and more locos on display. Dinas South Yard.

One of my ambitions for the Manchester show was to make a film of one train’s progress around the full layout to keep as a record of Bron Hebog in case we never get another opportunity to see it running again.

My son’s been learning how to use Photoshop at school. (School in the 2020s sound more fun than school in the 1980s, eh?) Very striking images of our Backwoods Double Fairlies on Dduallt I thought worth sharing.
