Today, the Supreme Court of Canada released its decisions in R. v. I.M. 2025 SCC 23 and R. v S.B. 2024 SCC 24. If you practice in the area of youth criminal justice, it is essential to familiarize yourself with these important decisions.

Interesting civil case that criminal lawyers and students should know about: In Sutherland Estate v. Murphy, 2025 ONCA 227, the Ontario Court of Appeal held that Charter section 11(c) applies to sentencing proceedings.
