On Aug. 6, 1945, the world changed forever.

The U.S, in the middle of World War II, dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later, the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb on another Japanese city — Nagasaki. Japan, an Axis power, surrendered soon after, ending the war. 🧵
