Idlewild pendant by Troy Lighting. Combining a Danish Modern shape, LED light source & an industrial feel, all with great success.

A domed pendant light with design & shape of a Danish Modern classic. The three stacked domes are made of metal that appears like classic airplane sheetmetal pieces rivetted together. The LED lightsource is withing the stack and light projects out between the smaller domed rings on to the larger domed surface above as well as down through a diffuser at the base.

When the lighting designer, interior designer, architect and builders work together, results can be stunning! Loving this recessed handrail & LED lighting for cantilevered stairs.

A long straight stairway appears to float off a tall plain wall. Just above it a long angled cutout acts as a recessed handrail and lighting for the stairs using hidden LEDs. In the foreground, part of a sofa could indicate the seating area of a contemporary residence.

Light is the magical medium. It is intrinsic to all architecture, art, and design. It surrounds us, informs us, indeed we are made of it. Working with light demands patience but always rewards my imagination. Architectural lighting projects take at least months, but more usually, years to complete. And when I finish such a project, the feeling of exhilaration and pleasure comes when I see the power of light to excite others. This always makes it worth the wait. To see first ideas activated in light and space becomes the daily reward of a career well lived. I always reach out to touch the light, but you know, you never really can.
