I'm a lifelong gamer who started with electronic games, Atari 2600, and NES. Big budget games don't appeal to me anymore so I play retro and indie nowadays.
Badged GG Aleste on Retroachievements. The first time was for Normal difficulty, this time it's for the harder difficult named Special. In Special the enemies shoot revenges bullets when destroyed making the game much more hectic. Great game overall.

Finished Annalynn, a charming platformer reminiscent of Pac-Man but with more mechanics and variety. You have infinite continues but there are achievements for not using them.

I recently created my first romhack! It disables the rings in Sonic 1 for Genesis. It makes the game much more difficult. It prevents acquiring continues, severely reduces lives, and prevents using rings defensively. To ensure the game is beatable I streamed it until I finally finished it.

Blade Chimera, the latest game by Team Ladybug, is in the bag! I quite enjoyed it; great pixel art, good mechanics, good music. The revelations at the end are pretty good.

That's a wrap on Super Alloy Ranger! It's a fun platformer in the style of the Mega Man Zero games. Good control, weapons, music, art and level design. The translation is a little rough but it's still a charming story. I would recommend this to fans of the MMZ games.

Hey all, please retweet for awareness and kick him from your own servers from now.

ZeeGee got hacked and tried to hack me today, so I kicked him immediately from mine.

Don't download anything he messages you about.

I just finished GG Aleste for Game Gear. Pretty decent shmup and it has an approachable difficulty. Cute still cutscenes. The one warning I will give is that it has some high pitched screeching sound effects which you will find in other Master System and Game Gear games.

It's one of those dreams I wish I could remember better. The setting is a handful of dive bars and the main character is a chatty guy, like Tyler Durden from Fight Club.
Through talking people he discovers that everyone including himself is dead. 1/4

A recap on the games I played on Steam in 2024 🧵

I first played Phantasy Star 4 some 20 years ago. Even after all this time I consider it one of the best games ever made and I'm proud to have it in my collection.

I just finished Crystal Breaker, a new indie shmup on Steam and Switch. It's a fun, simple, frantic shooter that avoids some of the pet peeves shmups are known for.

A couple of years ago I beat Ocarina of Time for the first time on Christmas Day. This year, I beat Skyward Sword for the first time on Christmas Eve, although I wasn't intending on it. 1/4

Watched someone play Summoner on PS2 this morning. It reminded me that developer put this easter egg video on another one of their games, Red Faction, for PC. The characters are from Summoner.

Recently I've been purchasing new music. I haven't done that probably in 15 years or longer. I've mainly just listened to new stuff on YT and bookmarked it.

Now I want to support artists who make music I can listen to while working or walking. My nascent collection: bandcamp.com/brigand1851

Today I bought and beat a shmup named Mirage Feathers. It's in the same vein as After Burner and it has the same frenzied pace. It's great and I would recommend it. There's a demo.

I will highly suggest turning on Streamer Mode to have the characters wear more clothing.

I only got 3 right. Is that an "oof" or is there a newer word for it? 🤦

At long last, I cleared Border Down for Dreamcast. I was introduced to it in college and played it here and there but never quite finished.

I have a soft spot for Wolfteam games. They have their own charm and some great tunes. Their games play well and have something that's just a little bit different than everyone else.

For Granada I think it could use a little more variety between levels; either new mechanics, weapons, or the like.
