After 3.5 years, I finally got an autism assessment on the NHS. And, with it, an official diagnosis of autism, finally. No real surprise at this point, but the ability to look back over my life and say "oh, THAT'S why I did x,y,z" is invaluable. I'm 42 and can finally understand myself a bit better

After 3.5 years, I finally got an autism assessment on the NHS. And, with it, an official diagnosis of autism, finally. No real surprise at this point, but the ability to look back over my life and say "oh, THAT'S why I did x,y,z" is invaluable. I'm 42 and can finally understand myself a bit better
I have a date for an autism assessment! I had to do another pre-screening which I must have passed, since the NHS contacted shortly after. At the end of September I will have an official yes or no, finally. I'm concerned how many people may have just got screened out by this new process, though.

Day 22: Been waiting on this one. This is my favourite piece of music, full stop. I can't describe why; it just is, and has been since I heard it age 11. I learned to play it on piano too- I do play, but it's a touch above my usual skill level. 100% me. 100% my song.
