Every stallion operation should follow suit, particularly for the stallions $30k & under. Kudos to Spendthrift Farm for adjusting course before the breeding sheds open. It's the right thing to do for breeders who struggle to make ends meet.

Excellent story @thetdn.bsky.social from @1danross.bsky.social on the aftercare challenges for breeders. We've had to become detectives to track down some of our horses to give them forever homes. Glad the traceabilility problem is being addressed.

I met Jimmy Carter at the Kentucky Derby and when he discovered I was UPI Kentucky State Editor he insisted I come out on the balcony to meet his wife as her family hailed from Kentucky. We spent about 20 minutes chatting before I had to go to file my story. Such a gracious man. RIP Mr. President.

Still pinching myself today. Excited to see what lies ahead for Tizzy in the Sky after her victory in the G3 Go for Wand. We own her dam, Tiz the Tide, who is out of a half-sister to Colonel John and is in foal to Mandaloun. We also have Tizzy's 2024 half-sister by War of Will.

Tizzy in the Sky, who drew the rail in Saturday's G3 Go for Wand, “is doing great... her past couple works have been very good. She is a generous horse galloping out all the time, but her gallop-outs lately have been especially good.”
Excited as we own her dam.

Instagrand is an interesting flashpoint in the battle between the 1st-wave sons of Into Mischief at stud, who are compact & muscular (think IG, Practical Joke, Goldencents), and the 2nd-wave sons with more length & classic credentials (Authentic, Life Is Good, etc.), over the future of the sire line
Keewaydin, a colt by Instagrand, will try two turns for the first time in this weekend's G2 Remsen Stakes.

Said trainer Chad Brown: "I do want to give him a shot and get a nice two-turn race under him before he gets a little bit of a breather."
