It might be useful to hold the Democrats accountable for continuing to fund ICE. Democratic leadership has refused to whip votes against the budget. Hakeem Jefferies the eyes of the world are upon you. Now this think tank wants to rebuild an institution which is unaccountable to democratic control.
Amid ICE's rampage, the new tycoon-funded Democratic think tank @searchlightinst.bsky.social issued a memo telling lawmakers to reject efforts to abolish the agency and asserting that "Democrats should embrace an aggressive plan to rebuild ICE."

Yes, and the Democratic Party will continue funding an unaccountable secret police force.

The Democrats only symbolically oppose authoritarianism, in the end, they’ll continue funding an unaccountable secret police.
America has two major parties:

One party exists to serve the demented whims of our Nazi Pedophile Mad King.

One party isn’t sure whether to fund his lawless goons who are shooting legal observers in the face.

We need to end the two party system.

Sports fans are more serious about holding their teams accountable for failure than liberals are serious about holding their Dem Party accountable for failure.

If liberals were as serious as the average sports fan, Dems long ago woulda been forced to fire their managers & change their roster.

Happy Birthday to singer and songwriter from the Bangles, Susanna Hoffs. Check out "The Real World" from their EP before they got a record deal and had the rough edges worn off.

Still sounds fresh as if it came out today. The Beatles were so prolific that this deep cut was given away to the Yellow Submarine soundtrack.
On this day in 1969, The Beatles released 'Yellow Submarine' in the United States. It was issued as the soundtrack to the animated film of the same name, which premiered in London in July 1968. From that soundtrack album, here's "Hey Bulldog."

What was your #childhoodcinema

The Pekin theater was an old vaudeville theater converted into a movie theater. Playing on Pekin’s alleged connection to Beijing it was decorated as a pagoda with a Buddha statue. It closed in the 70s and demolished in the late 80s.

I want to thank Hillary Clinton for elevating Donald Trump with the “pied piper strategy” & then not campaigning in the upper Midwest. The Democratic establishment for propping up a senile Biden & anointing a candidate who won ZERO delegates in 2020. He couldn’t have done without your incompetence.
This bizarre and dangerous claim violates literally every section of our Constitution, which was built by geniuses explicitly to limit individual power.

Those entrusted with enforcing our Constitution have a duty to every Conservative and Liberal American. A duty to act. Now.

Great piece about the latest manufactured crisis concerning public education. It deserves to be read by as many as possible.
Kids today are dumb & getting dumber. Schools are collapsing due to a lack of standards. Students are the equivalent of the subprime mortgage-backed securities that caused the Great Recession. IOW it's time for another round of public education panic. educationwars.substack.com/p/the-school...

Last month, 115 Democrats in the House and 28 in the Senate voted to give Trump $901 billion in military spending.

Dems may stomp their feet about Trump illegally bombing Venezuela and abducting its leader, but if they truly opposed the attack, they wouldn't have voted to fund it.

Many of my intellectual “betters” liked to smear me as a tankie or a stooge for Putin clearly never read Mary Sarotte’s Not One Inch. I won’t wait for an apology from those centrist partisan Democrats for being right.
Amanda Sloat, President Biden’s senior Europe director at the National Security Council, acknowledges that a NATO pledge against expansion might have prevented the Russia-Ukraine war.
Remember how much effort went into discrediting anyone who said NATO expansion was one of the causes of the war?

The degradation of the English language continues. Just read a financial piece which described a firm as earning a “negative profit.” Why not simply write “loss?” Fewer letters and more descriptive.

I come from a long line of “white trash,” “hillbillies,” and “river rats” from the wrong side of the tracks. None of my elders ever went to college, but we understood the bipartisan screw job decades ago. If only Janet Yellen was ever in a position of power to change economic policy.
