New gallery release! brentgoesoutsi.de/2025-appalac...

I've released 36 more images to my website and newsletter, in a gallery named "2025: Appalachian Spring."

This photo is titled "Passion for Glory." It was one of the most dazzling and incredible displays of light I've ever seen!
"How to Explain"

I feel lucky to have made this shot; I saw this light out of the corner of my while walking through a quiet forest. I took a couple of focus stacks, and the light was gone before I knew it. I am no stranger to quickly fleeting light, but I was not expecting it midday in a forest!

"Jumble"

Inspired by folks with careful and quiet compositions of the southwest, I've always wanted a nice photo of some of the beautiful boulders that tumble down from high canyon walls.

This is a fantastic ultrawide composition! I really enjoy the way the river lines up with the path, and how the curve of the path fits in the bottom of the frame just right. The light on the mountains and the sky ain't hurtin' neither.

It's a collection of photos I made while backpacking in some canyons with Eric Bennett. We ended up having quite an adventure. I wrote a journal about it, in case you're curious about our gnarly adventures.

I took this photo in White Sands National *Monument* in 2017 (it became a park in 2019). I never really did anything with it but now I think it's a perfect candidate for this project. I still enjoy it after 8 years, which I can't say about all of my old work!

Hat tip to my buddy Kevin Sink who alerted me that nature photography's next hot spot, northern Illinois, had a beautiful coat of hoar frost.

Oh, and I'm getting ready to release a new gallery soon. Sign up for my newsletter to see it.

I'm really glad to see Krister Berg joined bluesky! He is a nature photographer from Sweden. His compositions are always thoughtful and immaculate. A master at finding the amazing in the mundane.

A wonderful variety of well-separated tones and textures across the frame. The graceful shape of the ice and snow at the top of the frame complements the graceful shape of the tree's reflection at the bottom of the frame. The composition is dialed in, yet doesn't feel stiff.
