I recently spend time on the California coast in various areas, exploring beach abstracts, geology, and where ocean meets land. Thanks for taking a look!

Due to various other commitments this year, we didn't make it down to Arizona and the lovely Sonoran Desert. This image has always lifted my spirits, with all the brittle bush in bloom and the various types of cactus.

Popped off to the California coast for some wildlife photography - namely sea otters, and had a blast with them along the coast.

Some you may have already seen these images over on IG or FB, but I am working to transition to here and to post more on my own website. A Winter storm in Yosemite provided a wonderful photo opportunity in just 2 1/2 days and it was thrilling.

Dusky Dunes, Death Valley, CA. Although these dunes are 'beige', 'khaki' –– whatever you want to call it –– under certain light they can appear whitish or other soft colors. Looking for different views of the oft-photographed dunescape in the park.

"Reaching", Yosemite NP, CA. The fog helped to separate the tree and El Cap and filled in an otherwise empty sky space nicely!

I like the layers of the clouds behind the snow geese, and the autumn light on the birds and the landscape.

Found, NOT placed! I love it when nature jumps out at you with surprises like this. The curled bark of this birch tree caught pine needles, maple leaves and more, but I was taken by this simple image of the one leaf caught in the bark.

I've been pretty busy lately, but attempting to become more active here! This image was made during a walk along the Virgin River in Zion last November. If you slow down, and spend time noticing your surroundings, you will be taken by the photographs that are there. It was a day of visual 'gifts'.
