His current life is a second chance. He was gutted open by mistake, and rescued by a "passerby" with a even more mysterious potion. That potion rendered him hearing impairment, giant scar in the belly, and thirst for alchohol (but can't be drunk).

Yes they are the same person, but in different state. I want to explain the origin of the large scar. The first piece is the latest work (still in progress), second piece is what I wanted to draw in 2024 (failed), and the last 2 are merrier state of him.
Gravely injured dwarf. His mail and torso were broken. Cracked rings dropped in the blood pool. 2024 version, due to possible disturbance I cropped the image for milder experience. Original concept was he was gutted open (even the hairstyle is different from nowadays) and the passerby helped him with the potion. He was recovered after that, but the scar became a heavy part of him. another merrier image of him.
