For about 10 years, when our kids were young, I would do a quick sketch of our house on Christmas Eve after everything would quiet down. This is from 2016...gouache over acrylic, I think. Merry and Happy!

So, we all know that the structure of DNA was only discovered in 1953, 72 years ago, but it still seems astounding that it wasn’t discovered earlier. 72 years ago is not that long ago, in the scope of human history.

RIP James Watson, great scientist.

Our President, Erica Payne, spoke with Fast Company, and shared our super simple message for the FAA during the shutdown:

“If you need a 10% reduction [in flights], you can get 100% of your reduction from the private planes.”

These millionaires have a suggestion for the FAA: Cancel all private jet flights during the shutdown
Private jets make up one in six flights handled by the FAA, and taxpayers already foot the bill for their 'jet setting,' says Patriotic Millionaires.

SNAP on hold, AGAIN

Thank Leonard Leo, the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, and their stacking of SCOTUS.
As far as they're concerned, it's all going according to plan.
Evil incarnate.

When SNAP goes down, the whole economy suffers.

So the the United States Supreme Court has gone from protecting schoolchildren from racism in 1954 to helping to kill them with malnourishment in 2025? And the arc of history bends towards justice, you say?

China’s rise as the world’s clean energy superpower is reshaping global decarbonisation. The full implications are only starting to sink in.

An important new FT piece highlights that while much of the debate has focused on how Europe and the US should respond, the bigger story might be elsewhere.
