📢OPPORTUNITY FOR WRITERS!📢

Full Rich Day returns with a new writing-response project, In Regard To! Our aim is to encourage early-career writers to lean into their creative inspiration after watching a theatre show and compose a ten-minute response script to be showcased with an audience over Zoom.
Poster for Bread Bin Theatre Company's writing project 'Full Rich Day'. Their new scheme is called 'In Regard To', and this poster specifically relates to Bread Bin's new show, 'Together Forever!' Full Rich Day returns with a new writing-response project, In Regard To! Our aim is to encourage early-career writers to lean into their creative inspiration after watching a theatre show and compose a ten-minute response script to be showcased with an audience over Zoom. As part of this inaugural opportunity, we are inviting all writers who come to see Together Forever! to write a ten-minute short play in response to the production. All scripts will be read (and will receive feedback) by the team at Bread Bin, and a shortlist of five selected writers will get the opportunity to see their work performed. There is no limit to what the scripts explore, though we request a cast limit of two actors. To be eligible, writers must have seen a performance from the 15th – 19th April and must highlight what part of the show inspired their writing. The window for submissions will be open from Wednesday 16th April and will close on Friday 25th. This is an unpaid opportunity, though we hope this provides a great chance for emerging writers to both introduce themselves to Bread Bin, and to form new networks with other creatives.

Introducing James Pickthall (@jamesgpickthall.bsky.social), the writer of Together Forever!

Introducing James Pickthall, the writer of Together Forever! James Pickthall is an award winning writer and dramaturg from Plymouth. Their work explores themes of memories, queer identity, and understanding our place in the world. Previous work with Bread Bin Theatre Company includes Inside/Outside (Online), Mozart's Comfort Blanket (Online Audio), Safety Zone (Golden Goose Theatre/Theatre Royal Plymouth) and Hump Day (Oxford Playhouse). As a dramaturg, they have supported a number of writers developing their work and read for Live Theatre's North East Playwriting Award. They worked as a dramaturg on Beasts by Mandi Chivasa, which won a Fringe First Award in 2023. James is also a sound designer and composer under the moniker Val Aroo. Their first album, Additional Images, was self-released in 2022.

Introducing Yusuf Niazi, the director of Together Forever!

Introducing Yusuf Niazi, the director of Together Forever! Yusuf is a Director, Facilitator and Producer with nine years of professional experience. Having grown up & begun his career in Birmingham, he has since worked in London, Manchester & the Southwest. He’s worked with The Birmingham REP and The Omnibus & The Park Theatres in London. He is also a former Associate Director of Exeter Northcott Theatre, Learning & Engagement Officer at Oldham Coliseum Theatre and Performing Arts Lecturer at NESCOT. He is currently working as a freelancer across the UK. His last project was the award winnining, 5 star production of How Did I Get Here? which performed at The Bread & Roses, for a 3 week run in 2024. He is passionate about theatre for social change, and work that fuse writing, movement, spoken word & music. He would love to collaborate with writers, directors & producers who are planning projects for the next year.
