Canada doesn't censor its press or media corporations, the Conservative Party of Ontario & Canada might. Right now, Canadians freely elected a democratic party, we're not under a dictator or fascist leader. Why it suspiciously rescinded a day later is unknown. Anyways, happy freedom Canada. #USpoli

When you can, try to land a job that closely match your education & skills with the market demands. It's hard for people of colour, women, disabled people, etc., but do work on that goal while you're job searching & doing survival jobs. I learned that hard lesson working 20+ yrs underemployed.

Public servants who grew up working in Public Service (Gov't of Canada), will never be laid off in the mass layoffs, they've gotten the seniority, therefore are on that Priority List (which means they can steal other people's jobs to save them). Private sector new hires to G of C layoff /1 #cdnpoli

My previous manager was right. Our team was so self-sufficient, it didn't needed a manager to micromanage. The only reason why #cdnpoli is forcing 100% in-office is b/c they *want* to micromanage, we don't *need* to be. Other reasons, is go see if any ♀️ is knocked up 🤰, to fire them. Old people /1

The remote work had partially been an equalizer for disabled people, women, etc. It had removed the "Ottawa bubble (NC)" of hiring, because Canadians from all corner of the country were included in the "National Capital Region", making it less white-dominated & less ableist. #cdnpoli

My #Toronto office bldg. has gone through bed bug + cockroach infestations. Yet, the rumours about F/T in-office mandate confounds employees. The employer can't even guarantee a safe + healthy workplace, how can they handle F/T full workforce. Lawyers don't have office space. #cdnpoli

"The newspaper industry served as a feeder for our entire news media ecosystem. So when we lose those newspapers, we've lost that journalism. In the early 2000s, we had 40 journalists per 100,000 people. We're now down to 8 journalists per 100,000 people," says @victorpickard.bsky.social.

People confuse Asian ♀️s as administrative assistants due to deep-seated racial & gender stereotypes, particularly "model minority" myth & historical association of women, esp.
